When you buy a ticket we ask for, and store:

• Your first and last name
• Your email address — this is where your ticket is sent
• Your Safaricom phone number — this is where the M-Pesa prompt is sent
• Your age group
• How you heard about the event

We also keep the order itself: the tiers and quantities you bought, the amount, the payment reference and whether it succeeded.

Your name and email issue and deliver the ticket, and let us find your booking at the door. Your phone number is what the M-Pesa STK push is sent to, and what reconciles your payment against the order. Age group and how you heard about us are used only in aggregate, to report on who the festival reaches and to plan future editions.

We do not sell your details, and we do not pass them to advertisers.

Payments are processed by Safaricom M-Pesa. You enter your M-Pesa PIN on your own handset, never on this site — we never see it, receive it or store it. What we receive back from Safaricom is the transaction reference and whether the payment cleared.

Only the people and services needed to get you into the event: Safaricom, to take the payment; the mail service that delivers your ticket; and Docubox staff working the door on the night. We also disclose information where the law requires it.

Order and ticket records are kept for the edition they belong to and for as long afterwards as we need them for accounting and reconciliation. After that they are deleted or reduced to anonymous attendance figures that cannot be traced back to you.

You can ask us for a copy of the details we hold on you, ask us to correct them, or ask us to delete them. Write to info@mydocubox.org and we will respond. Deleting the details attached to an unused ticket may mean we can no longer admit you on it, so we will say so before acting.

This site sets no tracking, advertising or analytics cookies. Browsing the site and buying a ticket does not put a cookie on your device.

The only browser storage we use is on the staff admin screens, where a sign-in token is held in your browser’s session storage so staff are not signed out between pages. It is cleared when the tab closes, and it is never used to track anyone.

If we change what we collect or why, we will update this page and move the date at the top. The version shown here is the one that applies to your purchase.
